PUB2000: Horizontal Navigation Bar does not Update (218680)

SYMPTOMS

When you edit the Name, Title, or Vertical navigation bar of a web page, the Horizontal navigation bar may not update to match the changes.

NOTE: The Horizontal navigation bar cannot be edited directly.

CAUSE

If you edit a Title or Vertical navigation bar, click Edit, then click Undo Synchronize (or click Undo on the Standard toolbar), synchronization between the Horizontal navigation bar and the rest of your website is disabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the User Assistance tab, and click the button labeled Click to reset wizard synchronizing.
The next time that the Title or the Vertical navigation bar is edited, the Horizontal navigation bar will be updated.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Publisher 2000.
