SYMPTOMS

If you print or print preview your contacts using the Address Card or Detailed Address Card view, the icons indicating distribution lists (two profiled heads) do not display. You may not be able to tell distribution list items from contact items in the print preview or printed result.

RESOLUTION

If you use another view to print or print preview your contacts, the distribution list icon appears.

You can differentiate distribution lists in the Detailed Address Card view by including a note saying the item is a distribution list. When you preview or print the Detailed Address Card view, the note displays. To add a note to your distribution list, follow these steps.
  1. Double-click your distribution list item in the Contacts folder.
  2. Click the Notes tab, and type a description that indicates this item is a distribution list.
  3. Click Save and Close.
  4. In Outlook 2000 and in Outlook 2002, point to Current View on the View menu, and then click Detailed Address Cards.

In Outlook 2003, point to Arrange By on the View menu, point to Current View, and then click Detailed Address Cards.
  5. On the File menu, click Print Preview. You will see the note below the name of your distribution list.
