S3 Virge Video Adapter Disabled After Installing pcANYWHERE32 8.0 (216997)

SYMPTOMS

After you install Symantec pcANYWHERE32 8.0 in Windows 2000, your S3 Virge video adapter may be disabled. When you restart your computer, Windows 2000 may start without S3 video support and you may receive an error message stating that your video driver was written for a previous version of Windows.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, uninstall pcANYWHERE32 8.0. This enables the S3 Virge video adapter again.

You may want to contact Symantec to determine whether an update to the program that resolves this issue has been made available.
