After you install Windows 2000, your Plug and Play Sound Blaster 32 sound card may be listed as a Sound Blaster 16 in Device Manager.
CAUSE
A Sound Blaster 32 sound card, based on the CT3600 chip set, is actually a Sound Blaster 16 + AWE, so it is listed correctly in Device Manager .
The Sound Blaster AWE32 sound card is a standard Sound Blaster 16 MultiCD card with the EMU 8000 Advanced WavEffect music synthesizer chip. The card includes all the standard Sound Blaster 16 features. Additionally, the Sound Blaster AWE32 includes an advanced signal processor and multiple interfaces supporting Creative Labs, Mitsumi, and Sony CD-ROM drives.
