Error Message: Call to Undefined Dynalink (216295)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install Internet Explorer 4.01 after uninstalling Internet Explorer 5, you may receive the following error message:
Call to Undefined Dynalink

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the Win16x.dll file is in the Windows\System folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, delete the Win16x.dll file, and then install Internet Explorer 4.01.

For information about how to delete files, click the Help menu in File Manager, click the Contents tab, click Search, type deleting, and then double-click the Deleting files topic.

NOTE: If you rename the Win16x.dll file instead of deleting it, you receive the following error message when you attempt to install Internet Explorer 4.01:
Cannot find Win16x.dll

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
