  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q216132
NOTE: The procedures in this article only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. If you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation, you see "Corporate or Workgroup".

SYMPTOMS

After creating a profile configured to use Lotus cc:Mail with Outlook, you find that the distribution lists on the cc:Mail post office are not checked when a mail message is addressed using that list.

CAUSE

Outlook does not add the distribution list to the list of address providers that Outlook checks. The cc:Mail directory of addresses is added to this list.

RESOLUTION

Add the cc:Mail distribution list to the address providers available to Outlook.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

To add the cc:Mail distribution list to the list of addresses Outlook will check, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Services
  2. In Services click the Addressing tab and then click Add.
  3. In Address lists, click cc:Mail directory and then click Add

To use the cc:Mail distribution list, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click New Message.
  2. Type the name of the cc:Mail distribution list and then on the Tools menu, click Check Names.
NOTE: The cc:Mail distribution list must be preceded by the "#" character. For example, a list known as "Mylist" must be entered as "#Mylist." This is a Lotus convention.
