Site Server Search Cannot Sort on Query Strings Greater Than 2K (215476)

When you sort on long fields, an assertion occurs and some memory areas
are overwritten.
CAUSE
Microsoft Site Server Search is limited to sorting on strings that are less than 2K in length.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install the latest service pack for Site Server 3.0.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, shorten the query string so that it is less than 2K.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. service pack for Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the
