SUMMARY

This article describes the Change of Link feature provided by computers that conform to the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) specification.

MORE INFORMATION

ACPI-compliant computers that support the Change of Link feature resume from Suspend mode when you insert a network cable into the network adapter.

The Change of Link feature works differently depending on whether or not the computer is in Suspend mode when you disconnect the network cable.

If you disconnect the network cable when the computer is not suspended, the network adapter is suspended. The network adapter resumes when you reinsert the network cable into the network adapter.

If you disconnect the network cable while the computer is suspended, the computer does not resume when you reinsert the network cable into the network adapter.
