XL2000: Blank Workbook Remains Open Using a Custom Template (Book.xlt) (211708)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a workbook that you previously saved in Microsoft Excel 2000, the default blank workbook is not automatically closed.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you create a custom workbook template (Book.xlt) and replace the default workbook template in Microsoft Excel 2000.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must manually close the blank workbook.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
