XL2000: "Problems Came Up in the Following Areas During Load..." Error Exporting Spreadsheet or PivotTable to Excel (210824)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Export to Excel on the Microsoft Office Spreadsheet toolbar, you receive an error message similar to the following:
Problems came up in the following areas during load:

Number Format

A log file has been created listing the load errors. This file has been saved to the following location: c:\windows\temp\HtmlErr.log.
When you click OK, Microsoft Excel loads the spreadsheet, but without some of the formatting that was applied in the spreadsheet control.

When you click Export to Excel on the Microsoft Office PivotTable toolbar you receive an error message similar to the following:

PivotTable

A log file has been created listing the load errors. This file has been saved to the following location: c:\windows\temp\HtmlErr.log.
When you click OK, Microsoft Excel loads the PivotTable, but without some of the formatting that was applied in the PivotTable list control.

CAUSE

These problems occur when you use a number format in your Office Spreadsheet or PivotTable list that Microsoft Excel does not support.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must only use number formats that are compatible with Excel.
