SYMPTOMS

During the setup of a custom package that does not include the Windows Desktop Update, the following error may appear:
The Internet Explorer files on your computer do not contain the files for the Windows Desktop Update.

CAUSE

When you install a build to a computer that has the Windows Desktop Update already installed, the Windows Desktop Update must be included in the build. If the Windows Desktop Update is not included in the build, the Setup program detects that some components are missing from the installation and attempts to download them from the Web site set in the wizard during build setup. This occurs even in a compact-disc build.

WORKAROUND

Include the Web Desktop Update in the build. If desired, Active Desktop may be disabled with the Web Desktop policy in the IEAK wizard. By default, this will disable (set to "off") the View As Web Page option.
