SYMPTOMS

When you download a Quicken Interchange Format (.qif) file from your financial institution's Web site, the transactions are imported, but all of the values are displayed in the account register as $0.00.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the file you downloaded contains a currency symbol in the amount field.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, open the downloaded file in a word processor, and then use the word processor to replace the currency symbol with a space character. After you have done so, save the file and import it into Microsoft Money 98.

STATUS

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Money 99 and later.
