XL2000: Frozen Panes Do Not Stay Frozen on Web Page (207665)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel 2000

This article was previously published under Q207665

SYMPTOMS

When you display a Microsoft Excel worksheet in your Web browser, you can scroll rows or columns off of the Web page that were frozen in Excel.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you use the Freeze Panes command on your worksheet, and then view the worksheet as a Web page. HTML does not support freezing a part of a table.

WORKAROUND

If you need cells to remain frozen on the screen while you scroll through the worksheet, select the Add interactivity check box when you save your worksheet as a Web page (click Save as Web Page on the File menu).
