FPNW and SFN Do Not Force Password Change at Last Grace Login (205255)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft File and Print Services for NetWare 3.51
- Microsoft Services for NetWare 4.0
This article was previously published under Q205255 SYMPTOMS
When your Novell NetWare password expires, you are prompted to change your password when you log on. If the log on attempt is the last one specified in the Grace Login setting, NetWare does not allow you to proceed until you have changed your password. File and Print Services for NetWare (FPNW) and Services for NetWare (SFN) prompt you to change your password, but allow you to continue.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
If you continue without changing your password, you cannot log on to the network, and the administrator must reset your Grace Login settings. If you do not change your password within the defined grace period, the process is repeated.
