This article was previously published under Q204552 SYMPTOMS
When you save a Web page document (.html file) as a Microsoft Word document (.doc file), and the document contains linked frames, you may receive the following error message:
Word cannot save or create this file. The disk may be full or write-protected.
Try one or more of the following:
*Free more memory.
*Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full, write-protected, or damaged.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when the document contains frames that are linked to read-only documents or locations.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, remove the Link to file option for all frames. To do this, follow these steps:
- In Microsoft Word, open the Web document.
- Right-click each frame, and then click Frame Properties.
- On the Frame tab, in the Frame Properties dialog box, click Link to file to remove the link to the associated page.
