Microsoft Access 2000 is available in two versions: a retail version and an upgrade version. The retail version will run on any computer that meets the system requirements for Microsoft Access 2000. The upgrade version sells at a reduced price, and requires that you have one of the qualifying products listed in this article in addition to meeting the system requirements for Microsoft Access 2000.

To install an upgrade version of Microsoft Access 2000, you must own one of the following programs:

Office Suites

  • Microsoft Office Professional, Small Business, Standard and Developer editions (version 4 or later) for Microsoft Windows and Windows NT.

Microsoft Databases

  • Microsoft Access (version 2.0 or later) for Microsoft Windows and Windows NT
  • Microsoft FoxPro for (version 2.6 or later) for MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows and Windows NT
