PUB2000 Error Message: The Following File Is Corrupt or Missing: Msvisi.ttf (201188)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.

Delete Fonts That Are Zero Kilobytes (KB) in Size

Fonts that are 0 KB in size are damaged fonts. To remove fonts that are 0 KB in size from the Windows\Fonts folder:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Fonts.
3. On the View menu, click Details.
4. Click the Size column to sort the fonts by size.
5. Delete any font files that are 0 KB in size:
   1. Click the font that you want to delete.
   2. On the File menu, click Delete.
   3. When you are prompted to confirm the font deletion, click Yes.

Reduce the Number of Fonts That Are Installed on Your Computer

Reduce the number of fonts that are installed on the computer until fewer than 600 fonts remain installed on the computer. 2. Right-click a blank area on the Microsoft Windows desktop, and then click New Folder.
3. Type OldFonts, and then press ENTER.
4. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
5. Double-click Fonts.
6. Delete any fonts with a small arrow in the lower-left corner of the font icon. These font files are shortcut files.
7. Move TrueType fonts that you do not often use into the OldFonts folder until fewer than 600 fonts remain in the Fonts folder.
   
   To select multiple fonts, press and hold down the CTRL key as you click the fonts that you want to select. NOTE: Do not remove the following fonts:
   
   
   • Arial
   • Courier New
   • Marlett
   • Symbol
   • Tahoma
   • Times New Roman
   • WingDings
8. Restart your computer.
9. If you continue to receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section of this article when you start Publisher 2000, remove an additional 25 fonts from the Fonts folder, and then restart the computer. Repeat this step until the issue is resolved.
