FP98: Using Drag and Drop From Page to Shared Border Does Not Work (201168)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 98 for Windows

This article was previously published under Q201168

SUMMARY

The drag and drop technique in Microsoft FrontPage 98 will allow a selected item to be moved from the shared border region of a page into the main part of the page, but not from the main area onto the shared border region.

MORE INFORMATION

The shared border region of the page is actually another page which is included, when you save the page. FrontPage cannot move data into a page that is not considered to be open at the time.

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Drag the pointer to select the text or object to be moved on the main part of the page.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Cut.
  3. Place the cursor in the shared border area where you want the text or object.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
NOTE: For more information about included pages, click the Index tab in FrontPage Help, type the following text Include and then double-click the selected text to go to the "To include a page in another page" topic.
