This article was previously published under Q200395

SYMPTOMS

When you extract files that span more than one floppy disk from a compressed folder, you may be prompted to swap disks several times during the extraction process.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you use a drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste operation to extract the compressed files.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the Extract wizard to extract the compressed files. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the file you want to extract, and then click Extract.
  2. In the Files will be extracted to this directory box, type the path to the folder to which you want to extract the compressed files or click Browse to browse to the folder you want.
  3. Click Next, and then click Finish.
