Cannot advance 2-digit dates beyond 12/31/79 in Outlook 2000 (199991)

Note These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

In the Outlook Out of Office Assistant, 2-digit dates are parsed into years 1980 through 2079, regardless of the current year.

CAUSE

Certain features in Outlook are designed to use different parsing algorithms that better fit their particular context. The Advanced rule settings of the Out of Office Assistant uses the range of 1980-2079.
