HP Fastmodem May Not Function with Windows 98 (199283)

SYMPTOMS

You may experience any of the following symptoms:
  • Your Hewlett-Packard (HP) Fastmodem does not function after you upgrade your HP Brio or other computer from Microsoft Windows 95 to Windows 98.
  • Plug and Play detects the Fastmodem, but does not install a driver.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur after you upgrade an HP Brio or other computer with an HP Fastmodem installed to Windows 98. Windows 98 does not include drivers for this modem.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, download and install the most current drivers for this modem.
