SYMPTOMS

When you reconnect the network cable, your computer may not "wake up." Note that this behavior may seem intermittent.

CAUSE

If the computer is "asleep" when the network cable is disconnected, it may not "wake up" when the cable is reconnected because the network adapter was not placed in low-power mode. The network adapter must be in low-power mode before it responds to the reconnect. The computer must be on to put the network adapter in low-power mode.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
