InkWriter Does Not Save Files to the "My Documents" Folder (198319)

SYMPTOMS

When you save a file in Microsoft InkWriter, the file may not be saved to the My Documents folder.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the My Documents folder is missing or damaged. InkWriter does not automatically re-create a missing or damaged My Documents folder.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

Start Pocket Word. If the My Documents folder is missing or damaged, Pocket Word automatically creates a new copy in the My Handheld PC folder.

Method 2

Manually re-create the My Documents folder in the My Handheld PC folder. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Tap Start, tap Programs, and then tap Windows Explorer.
  2. On the File menu, tap New Folder.
  3. Type My Documents, and then press ENTER.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows CE version 3.0 Professional Edition for the Handheld PC.
