Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

SYMPTOMS

When you print or preview a form or report whose Picture property is set to a file, the result may be incorrect. The picture may not be the correct size, and it may not be properly aligned with the data. For example, this problem can occur when you use the Form Wizard to create a form, and you choose a style that sets the Picture property to a .wmf file associated with the International, Dusk, or Clouds style.

RESOLUTION

Set the Picture property of the form or report to a file in a different format, such as .bmp.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Start Microsoft Access and open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
  2. In the Database window, click Forms under Objects, and then click New.
  3. In the New Form dialog box, click Form Wizard. In the "Choose the table or query where the object's data comes from" box, select Shippers, and then click OK.
  4. On the first screen of the Form Wizard, add all of the fields in the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list, and then click Next.
  5. On the next screen of the Form Wizard, click to select Columnar, and then click Next.
  6. On the third screen of the Form Wizard, click International for the style, and then click Finish to create the form.
  7. On the File menu, click Print Preview.

Note that if you are using Microsoft Windows 95 or later, the picture fills the page and is centered; however, if you are using Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, the picture is not aligned with the data, and its size is not correct.
  8. On the File menu, click Print. Note that on the printed form, the picture is not aligned with the data, and its size is not correct. The problem with the printed form occurs regardless of whether you are using Microsoft Windows 95 or later or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.
