OL2000: "By Conversation Topic" View Loses Indents After Sorting (197087)

SYMPTOMS

When you sort a mail folder viewed By Conversation Topic, using any of the default fields, the indentation of messages is lost.

CAUSE

Messages within a conversation topic are indented if the message is a reply or forward, and if sorted by conversation index. When you sort by any other criteria, the indentation is lost.

RESOLUTION

To regain your indented message display, follow these steps:

  1. On the View menu, point to Current View, and click Customize Current View.
  2. In the View Summary, click Sort.
  3. Select Conversation Index in the Sort Items By list, click OK and OK.
