OL2000: Mark Comments Marks Each Letter in Comment (197035)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Outlook and select the "Mark my comments with" option and then reply to or forward a message in Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format, making annotations in the original text, your name or the text you specified to mark your comments with, appears in brackets before each letter that you type.

CAUSE

You pressed the INSERT key before typing your comments.

RESOLUTION

Use one of the following resolutions:

  • As soon as you notice the problem, press INSERT once and close the message without saving changes. Open the message and make your comments.
  • As soon as you notice the problem, press INSERT once, backspace over the extra characters, and resume typing.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
