- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 for UNIX on Sun Solaris
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 for UNIX on HPUX
This article was previously published under Q196261 SYMPTOMS
After you create custom .cab files for Internet Explorer Setup using the
Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK), you may not be able
to install Internet Explorer using the custom Setup on a computer running
UNIX for Sun Solaris or HPUX.
CAUSE
Custom Signing requires support for individual certificates. This support
is not currently available on UNIX platforms.
RESOLUTION
When you add custom components to an IEAK package, the custom .cab files
should not be signed. Internet Explorer for UNIX Setup cannot extract
custom components with a different signature from the downloaded built-in
.cab files. If you have already created custom .cab files with signatures,
you must re-create them without signatures.
