Works Deluxe 4.5a: CD Key Is Only 10 Digits and 11 Are Required (194987)

SYMPTOMS

When you type the CD Key that is printed on the back of the Microsoft Works Deluxe version 4.5a CD-ROM jewel case during Works Deluxe Setup, the Continue button remains unavailable, and you are unable to install the program.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the CD Key on some copies of Microsoft Works Deluxe version 4.5a is only 10 digits long. Microsoft Works Deluxe Setup requires an 11-digit CD Key to continue.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact Microsoft Customer Service at (800) 426-9400 to obtain a valid 11-digit CD Key.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Works Deluxe version 4.5a.
