SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to share a program in NetMeeting, the Share button on the toolbar and the Share Application command on the Tools menu may be unavailable.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if any double-byte character set (DBCS) fonts are installed. NetMeeting does not support DBCS fonts.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, uninstall all DBCS fonts, and then verify that the fonts are removed from the Windows\Fonts folder. It may be necessary to manually delete the DBCS fonts from the Fonts folder.

For information about how to delete files, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type delete, and then double-click the Files Or Folders (in Microsoft Windows 95) or Deleting Files, Folders (in Windows 98) topic.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft NetMeeting version 2.1.

MORE INFORMATION

DBCS fonts are usually indicative of Japanese or Chinese character sets.
