If you are a teacher, you may want to use a different grading scale than the default scale in the Microsoft Works Grade Book template. This article describes how to change the grading scale in a Grade Book file.

By default, the Grade Book wizard in Microsoft Works uses the following scale in the grade table.

   Grade   Score

   A+      97%
   A       93%
   A-      90%
   B+      87%
   B       83%
   B-      80%
   C+      77%
   C       73%
   C-      70%
   D+      67%
   D       63%
   D-      60%
   F       0%
				
To change the grading scale in a Grade Book file, follow these steps:

  1. Click Students & Teachers on the TaskWizards tab of the Works Task Launcher.
  2. Click Grade Book, and then click OK.
  3. Click Yes, Run The TaskWizard.
  4. Click the document layout you want, and then click Create It!
  5. Locate the grade table in the grade book.

    In a Standard layout grade book, the grade table starts on row 54, scores are on row 55, and the associated letter grades are on row 56.

    In a Modified layout or Weighted Average layout grade book, the grade table starts on row 115, scores are on row 116, and the associated letter grades are on row 117.
  6. Change the values in the grade table to the values you want for your grading scale.
