FIX: Permissions Shown Incorrectly in SQL Enterprise Manager (193392)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 6.5

This article was previously published under Q193392
BUG #: 18133 (SQLBUG_65)

SYMPTOMS

If you have two objects with the same name, but different owners, permissions may be shown incorrectly on the By User tab in SQL Enterprise Manager. The permissions granted to users on the object will not be displayed. However, the permissions will be displayed correctly on the By Object tab.

When executing queries, the users will have all the permissions that they have been granted. The problem lies only in the way the By User tab in SQL Enterprise Manager displays the permissions.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can view the permissions correctly on the By Object tab in SQL Enterprise Manager.
