IntelliMouse Wheel Opens Shortcut Menu in Lotus Notes (191831)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft IntelliMouse wheel to scroll or pan through a window in Lotus Notes 4.6, a shortcut menu may open on the screen.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Universal Scrolling feature is not compatible with Lotus Notes 4.6.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, add Lotus Notes 4.6 to the Exceptions For Universal Scrolling list. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Mouse, and then click the Wheel tab.
  3. In the Universal Scrolling area, click Exceptions.
  4. Click Add, and then locate the executable file for Lotus Notes 4.6.
  5. Click this executable file, and then click Open.
  6. Click Close, and then click OK.
  7. Quit Control Panel.
