No Graphics Between Project Buttons on Startup Screen (191461)

SYMPTOMS

When you start one of the programs listed above, the center area between the project buttons on the startup screen may be blank. This area should contain graphic examples of the types of projects that you can design.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur for either of the following reasons:

  • Video compression is not installed.
  • ActiveMovie is not installed or is corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order they are presented.

Install Video Compression

To install video compression, follow these steps:

NOTE: You may be required to insert your Windows 95/Windows 98 CD to complete these steps.

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. On the Windows Setup tab, click Multimedia in the Components box.
  4. Click Details.
  5. Click to select the Video Compression check box.
  6. Click OK, and then click OK again.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen. You may be prompted to insert your Microsoft Windows 95/98 CD-ROM or floppy disks.
If the issue continues to occur, proceed to the next method.

Reinstall ActiveMovie (Windows 95 only)
