BUG: DataConnections in Global.asa Do Not Show in Data View (190948)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0

This article was previously published under Q190948

SYMPTOMS

The DataConnections that are in the Global.asa do not show in the DataEnvironment or the Data View.

CAUSE

This is caused by the user adding an existing Global.asa to a project. The user copy/pasting the Global.asa into the Project Explorer or manually copying it to the Web server will not force Visual InterDev to parse for DataConnections. Because of this, none of the DataConnections contained in the file will be visible in DE or data view.

RESOLUTION

The only resolution is to re-add the DataConnections through the Visual InterDev "Add Data Connection..." command.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
