This article describes how to upgrade your software from Microsoft Greetings 99 to Microsoft Home Publishing 99. Home Publishing 99 contains all the functionality of Greetings 99 plus a lot more. But because they share some components, you cannot have both Greetings 99 and Home Publishing 99 on the same system.

When you install Home Publishing 99, Microsoft recommends that you install it into the same folder where you have Greetings 99. If you install Home Publishing 99 to a different location without uninstalling Greetings 99, Greetings 99 will still be disabled. Note You can open any projects created with Greetings 99 in Home Publishing 99.

Upgrading to Home Publishing 99

To upgrade from Greetings 99 to Home Publishing 99, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Home Publishing 99 Disk 1 into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Home Publishing 99.
Note If you want to install Greetings 99 on a system where Home Publishing 99 is installed, you must first uninstall Home Publishing 99.

You can open any project created in Home Publishing 99 in Greetings 99.
