Money: Data Lost After Changing College Expense Owner (190793)

SYMPTOMS

When you change the owner of a college expense in the Lifetime Planner in Money 99 or later, all details of that expense are lost and you must re-enter them.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, re-create the college expense by filling in all the information for the new owner in the College Expense Wizard.

Note You cannot edit only the owner of the expense while retaining the original details.

To re-create the college expense, use the appropriate method for your version of Money.

Money 2000 and Later

  1. On the Money navigation bar, click Planner.
  2. Under Tasks you do most often, click Update my Lifetime Plan to meet my financial goals.

    If you are using Money 2001 or later, click Lifetime Planner.
  3. In the left pane, click Expenses, and then click College & Other.
  4. In the list of expenses, click the college expense you want to edit.
  5. Click Edit, and then click All Details.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to fill in all of the information for the new owner in the College Expense Wizard.
  7. When you finish the wizard, click Finish.

Money 99 Financial Suite

  1. On the Money navigation bar, click Planner.
  2. Click Lifetime Planner.
  3. In the left pane, click Expenses, and then click College & Other.
  4. In the list of expenses, click the college expense you want to edit.
  5. Click Edit, and then click All Details.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to fill in all of the information for the new owner in the College Expense Wizard.
  7. When you finish the wizard, click Finish.

STATUS
