BUG: No Warning That Move Last Will Not Work (190759)

SYMPTOMS

You will not see any warning message in design time, when using a Recordset Design-time control (DTC) with a forward-only cursor and a RecordsetNavBar DTC, informing that certain move operations such as move last will not work at run-time; that is, while browsing the page.

RESOLUTION

You need to use a Static/Keyset cursor to be able to navigate between records in any manner.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
