PRJ98: Task Scheduled Incorrectly If Predecessor Has Percent Lag (190138)

In Microsoft Project 98, when you update a resource assignment on a task,
one or more successor tasks may not immediately be scheduled correctly.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs for a successor task when all of the following
conditions are true:
- The task is linked to a predecessor with a lag time expressed as a
percentage, for example a Lag of -50%.
- The predecessor task has a resource assigned.
- You modify the resource units or work on the predecessor so that the
duration of the predecessor is recalculated.
This behavior occurs because the scheduling of the successor task is based
on the percentage of the previous duration of the predecessor, not the
duration of the predecessor after the change is made.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, press F9 to force the project to recalculate.
