These standards include the toy safety standards from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), including the American Society for Testing and Materials Standard (ASTM F963), and toy safety standards from the Canadian Hazardous Products (Toys) legislation. In addition, the ActiMates toys have gone through rigorous reliability testing similar to the use and abuse that children put all toys through.

Although the ActiMates characters are stuffed toys, they are also highly sophisticated electronic and mechanical devices. Every attempt has been made to ensure that they are both safe and durable. However, there are a few guidelines you should follow to ensure that your ActiMates character has a long and happy life. These guidelines include:

  • Clean your ActiMates character with a soft damp cloth. Never dry clean, machine wash, or tumble dry the toy.
  • Never saturate or immerse your ActiMates character in water.
  • If your ActiMates character does get wet, remove the batteries and let it dry completely before you use it again.
  • After you change the batteries, always securely tighten the screw to the battery compartment door.
  • Never leave your ActiMates character in a car on a hot summer day or on a cold winter night when the temperature is below freezing.
  • Never leave your ActiMates character in the rain or snow.
