PRJ98: Resource Peak Units May Be Displayed Incorrectly (189878)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q189878 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, resource Peak Units may display incorrectly in a
resource view.
For example, time-phased resource Peak Units for a period may be blank even
though the resource has assignments for that period.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when multiple assignments for a single resource for
the same time period exceed the Microsoft Project limit of 10,000 units
(1,000,000 per cent) for a single resource assignment.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows Service
Release 1 (SR-1). Resource units will not be displayed incorrectly when
multiple assignments for a single resource for the same time period exceed
the Microsoft Project limit of 10,000 units (1,000,000 per cent) for a
single resource assignment.
STATUSThis problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, ServiceRelease 1 (SR-1).
For additional information about obtaining and installing SR-1, please see
the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
185102 PRJ98: How to Obtain and Install MS Project 98 SR-1
MORE INFORMATION
If the sum of all assignments exceeds the 10,000 limit for any period, the
time-phased resource Peak Units field for that period in the Resource Usage
view will be blank, and the resource Peak field on a resource table will
display as 1.
