Plus! 98: Garfield Desktop Theme Is Missing Wallpaper Graphics (189845)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Garfield desktop theme included in Plus! 98, you no longer see the animated portion of the wallpaper containing the picnic basket and the ants after you install Encarta Encyclopedia.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Encarta installs Macromedia Shockwave Flash version 2.0.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, reinstall Macromedia Shockwave Flash from the Windows 98 CD-ROM. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. On the Windows Setup tab, click Multimedia, and then click Details.
  4. Click the Macromedia Shockwave Flash and Macromedia Shockwave Director check boxes to select them, and then click OK.
  5. Click OK. Insert the Microsoft Windows 98 CD-ROM if you are prompted to.
  6. Close Control Panel, and then restart the computer.
