PPT98: Outline Text Prints with Solid White Fill on PostScript (189358)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q189358 SYMPTOMS
When you print a PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition presentation, slides that
contain text formatted to use the outline font format will not print as they
appear on your screen. The text will print with a solid white fill rather than
the background fill showing through.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if you are printing to a PostScript printer, such as the
Apple LaserWriter. The PostScript printing language does not have the ability to
print text with transparent or clear fills.
RESOLUTION
To print the text with the outline effect, print to a non-PostScript printer.
MORE INFORMATION
The outline font format is not supported in Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows.
Any presentation created in a Macintosh version of PowerPoint and opened in a
Windows version will lose the outline font formatting.
