Msbatch.inf File Created with Batch98 Installs AT&T WorldNet (189112)

SYMPTOMS

When you create an Msbatch.inf file using the Microsoft Batch98 tool, click the AT&T WorldNet Service check box to clear it, save the Msbatch.inf file, and then open it again using the Batch98 tool, the AT&T WorldNet Service check box is selected.

RESOLUTION

To prevent the Msbatch.inf file from automatically installing the AT&T WorldNet service, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Programs, and then click Microsoft Batch 98.
  2. On the File menu, click Open, and then locate and double-click the Msbatch.inf file.
  3. Click Optional Components, and then click Online Services.
  4. Click the AT&T WorldNet Service check box to clear it, click OK, and then click Save Settings To INF.

    NOTE: If you open the Msbatch.inf file again using the Batch98 tool, the AT&T WorldNet Service check box is selected.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98.
