Task Manager CPU Usage Only Displays Eight Processors (188838)

SYMPTOMS

The CPU Usage History section on the Performance tab in Task Manager normally displays a frame for each processor. If your computer has more than eight processors, the CPU Usage History shows only eight CPUs and leaves a blank gray space where the other CPU frames should be. It also repaints the screen continuously and the screen becomes unreadable after a period of time.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 4.
