SYMPTOMS

Embedded objects may occasionally appear hazy, unavailable (grayed out), or ghosted in Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition.

CAUSE

This effect appears when the object is currently open in its OLE server. This is a design implementation to signal that that object is currently open in its OLE server.

WORKAROUND

To prevent this from occurring, quit all open OLE server applications before returning to PowerPoint.
