PPT98: Cannot Add 3-D Effects to Some AutoShapes (188479)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add three-dimensional (3-D) effects to some AutoShape objects, such as the Smiley Face, the 3-D options are unavailable (grayed out). To locate the 3-D settings, select an object, and then click the 3-D button on the Drawing toolbar.

CAUSE

You can apply 3-D effects to any OfficeArt shape except the following AutoShapes, which have a 3-D appearance by default:

Can
Cube
Bevel
Folder Corner
Smiley Face
Inserted picture
OLE objects

STATUS

This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a future release.
