PPT98: Pressing ESC Halts Slide Narration Recording (188456)

SYMPTOMS

If you press ESC while recording a slide show narration, PowerPoint does not save the recorded sound for the slide that was current when you pressed ESC.

CAUSE

In PowerPoint, ESC is equivalent to canceling a function.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do one of the following:
  • Allow the slide show to end naturally.

    -or-
  • Right-click anywhere on the current slide, and then click End Show. The slide show ends and the narration for the current slide is saved.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
