SYMPTOMS

When you print a page from Greetings Workshop, the page comes out in black and white (no color). Other applications may continue to print in color.

CAUSE

This is usually caused by the printer driver being set to print in grayscale.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue disable grayscale printing. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Quit Greetings Workshop.
  2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  3. Click once on the icon for your printer to select it.
  4. On the File menu, click Properties.
  5. Look for an option similar to "Print in Grayscale." The location of this setting will vary from driver to driver.
  6. Clear this option.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Open your project and print.
If you still cannot print your project in color, follow these steps:

  1. Open a printable project in Greetings Workshop.
  2. Click "Print my project."
  3. From the "Let's print your project" screen, choose "Click here to change printer setup."
  4. On the Print Setup screen, click Properties.
  5. Look for an option similar to "Print in Grayscale." The location of this setting will vary from driver to driver.
  6. Clear this option.
  7. Click OK to the Properties and the Print Setup dialog boxes.
  8. Continue to print the project.

MORE INFORMATION

This is the correct behavior for a printer set to print grayscale. Some applications do not check this setting and force color printing. This results in color output from these applications.
