Audio Playback in WebTV for Windows Is Interrupted (188121)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows 98

This article was previously published under Q188121

SYMPTOMS

When you view an enhanced broadcast using WebTV for Windows, audio may not be played properly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the broadcast you are viewing loads a new Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) page or resizes the window in which the broadcast is being displayed. Each time this occurs, the video graph is rebuilt which results in a slight interruption in audio playback.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, authors of enhanced broadcasts should minimize the changes made to the window in which broadcasts are displayed by using frames instead of reloading a new HTML page.
