PRB: Error "User Admin Not Found" When You Log On to a Visual SourceSafe Database (186402)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to log onto a Visual SourceSafe database, you receive the following error message:
User Admin Not Found
This error occurs even though the Admin's user directory and ss.ini files do exist.

CAUSE

The error is typically caused by corruption in the UM.dat or the Rights.dat files.

RESOLUTION

Call Microsoft Technical Support for a possible resolution to this error. Choose Technical Support from the Help menu within the Visual SourceSafe Explorer for more information about contacting support.
